I was born in 1955 so that makes me 63 as I start this blog.
I have vast experience and knowledge of addiction, as I come from a family of addicts. I myself have almost 41 years of sobriety. I stopped drinking on June 18, 1978. I credit the Grace of God and the foundation of AA for my many years of sobriety.
I have also struggled with compulsive gambling which was devastating and more cunning, baffling, and powerful than alcohol was. I have been in recovery from compulsive gambling for going on 10 years, though I have had a few relapses of a day or two in the past 4 years.
I smoked for over 40 years but have been quit since November 2016. I did have a one day relapse on my last birthday Oct. 21st.
I have over come a few other addictions, though I still struggle with Chocolate!! I am a work in progress😁.
I am married to a wonderful man who has lived with type 1 diabetes since he was 14 years old, going on 48 years.
I have 2 adult sons and 3 Grandchildren. My youngest Son was finally diagnosed with Aspergers at age 13 after many years of searching for answers to why he struggled so much with daily life since birth.
So much more I could write about myself, but I think this is enough for now. As I write this blog more will be revealed.
